Het Broeikaseffect

Het Broeikaseffect, or The Greenhouse Effect, was an experimental art project in a greenhouse in the middle of the flower fields of Noordwijk. From winter 2020 to summer 2021 musicians, writers and artists came together.

Nature and art met in the greenhouse. When the seasons changed the participants shared their work through performances, exhibitions, and pop-up events. With no fixed outcome the project grew naturally over time.

A textual cut-up made from an article about new ways of working during the COVID-19 pandemic. The cut-up is used in a mural I've made for the exhibition "Het Broeikaseffect" or "The Greenhouse Effect". 2020. Translated into English it says: Life lessons More trust in different But my current I must think And thought: that's where I want to live. Gigantically high.
A mural I made for the group exhibition "Het Broeikaseffect" / "The Greenhouse Effect". The poem is created through textual cut-up and the organic letter shapes are made with leftover mandarin peels and applied with a brush, stencil, chalk and water. 2020.

My contribution was a poetic text installation where language and form interacted with the transparent walls. I designed letters from mandarin peels and painted them with chalk.

I also created a zine full of interviews with participating artists about their inspirations, methods and the greenhouse’s impact on their work.

For the first season in "Het Broeikaseffect" / "The Greenhouse Effect" I designed a publication. It contains a visual logbook which shows the growth and developments in the greenhouse. I've interviewed 3 artists about their working process.
